Catfish Hunter pitched a perfect game, won twenty or more games for five straight seasons, and was the ace on seven division champions, six A.L. champions, and five World Series champions. His owner for the Oakland A's, Charlie O. Finley was known for his eccentric ways, that included orange baseballs and in 1973, all green-uniforms!
That year, the A's began wearing solid green or solid gold jerseys, with contrasting white pants, at a time when most other teams wore all-white uniforms at home and all-grey ones on the road. Similar to more colorful amateur softball uniforms, they were considered a radical departure for their time.
The inside tag features "McAuliffe"" manufacturer’s tag. Below are three additional labels including the [size] “34, 22”, [year] 1973 and wash instructions. His jersey number “27” is on on the inside. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us game-used. Overall, shows great use from the HOFer who seemed to always win, his 21-5 record in 1973. His 3rd out of five consecutive 20 win seasons!
This pants also comes with a LOA directly from his Son who attests this was worn from his father and maintained in his family until now.
